iTrans: Constructive Selves Through Technology – Sharing Event
June 16, 2012
Where: The Dana Centre @ the Science Museum. SW7 5HD. Nearest tube South Kensington. The Dana Centre is a separate entrance to the main Science Museum entrance, please see the map.
On Saturday 16th of June we will host a display of the artwork produced by young trans people during a 3 month Gendered Intelligence project, in partnership with the Science Museum and Arts Council England. The theme of the project was to explore how science and technology shape our gender identities.
The young people have visited different science and technology themed exhibitions as part of the project and used them, along with their own experiences as young trans people, as inspiration to produce a range of artwork around the themes of science, technology and gender.
The sharing event will showcase this work. Attendance is free but you must email us to book a place as we have limited space at the venue.
Everyone is welcome – whether you’re a young trans person, ally to the trans community or just interested in the project. The venue is fully accessible, please contact us if you are concerned about any access requirements.
Travel bursaries are available upon request to trans youth (under 25) wanting to come along – please get in touch if you need assistance with travel money to attend.
Please email firstname.lastname@example.org to book a place, or if you have any queries.
