Sue Sanders on Radio 5Live – homophobic language in schools

This morning (14th October 2013) Schools OUT UK’s co-chair Sue Sanders appeared live as part of a radio debate on the use of homophobic language in schools – particularly the use of ‘gay’ as a derogatory term.

The programme was a response to singer Will Young’s comments this weekend, that schools need to be doing more to deal with the issue of homophobic language.

Sue initially took part in a short discussion alongsode Luke of Stonewall, before the main phone-in at 9am.

A lively debate followed, with contributions from representative of the NUT and a vicar, as well as the general public.
