Sue talks Pink Promotion and Prelaunch

Tonight, on LGBT Radio station futureradio.co.uk, Schools OUT UK co-chair Sue Sanders spoke at length about our two upcoming initiatives, The Pink Promotion and LGBT History Month 2014.

Coming up first on 18th November is The Pink Promotion, commemorating the 10th anniversary of the repeal of Section 28 and the start of Anti-Bullying Week. We are asking everyone on the UK to have their photograph taken while wearing something pink – the colour of diversity – then send it to us (see below)

We are also encouraging teachers to demonstrate their opposition to homophobia and their support for inclusivity on that day by teaching just one lesson from our sister website The Classroom.

And of course, 28th November is the prelaunch for LGBT History Month 2014 with its theme of Music, from The Bramall Hall at The University of Birmingham.

In addition to chatting with Julie, Sue chose ‘The March of the Women’ by Ethel Smyth and ‘There’s A place For Us’ from West Side Story as pieces of music with special meaning to her.
