Brighton Ourstory was set up in 1989 by a group of local lesbians and gay men. Our aim is to collect material about our lesbian, gay and bisexual past – and present – and to make sure that our experience is preserved and made visible to the lesbian, gay and bisexual community.
Inspired by the 2005 Lesbian and Gay History Month. As part of the University of York and as an archive used by students, academics and members of the general public we wanted to produce a website which would encourage researchers to consider LGBT history and provide a teaching resource
